About Fort Scratchley
Fort Scratchley is situated at the eastern end of Newcastle on the site where convicts created Australia's first coal mine in 1801. To protect the coastline in the event of an attack, Fort Battlesticks was constructed and the site became known as Signal Hill. Today the Fort operates as a museum and provides a unique venue for business events. The Fort Scratchley Function Centre is a contemporary centre which boasts a light filled space with spectacular views over the ocean ideal for business presentations, workshops, cocktail parties and corporate events. To add interest to your event the refurbished Barracks built cira 1886 are made up of 2 adjoining rooms, Barracks North and South, which open onto a balcony allowing delegates and guests to take in the magnificent views and the fresh sea air. We understand the importance of getting business done right and impressing your clients and as such our experienced and professional Newcastle VenuesTeam and award winning onsite caterer Blue Star Catering will work closely with you to ensure your event runs efficiently, on time and has the desired impact to ensure business objectives are meet.
