Contentious Character Wine Experience
About Contentious Character Wine Experience
Region: Country NSW South
Contentious Character is a contemporary cool climate vineyard estate with winery, cellar door, restaurant and event facilities, set in the hills of Wamboin, only 15 minutes from Canberra Airport.
Your group can experience a taste of the entire Canberra winemaking region in the one location, featuring wines from the rare and unique Founders Museum Collection of old world style vintages, and the more recent vintages under the Contentious Character brand - the new kid on the old block, that bring a fresh new world twist to the old world styles.
The comparison of the old and new world wines is a fun and fascinating experience for groups from 10 to 150. Coupled with a winery tour and expert winemaker talk at one of the regions most sophisticated wine making facilities, and your group is assured to have a great day out.
Their suite of Half (5 wines), Full Monty (8 wines) and Indulgence (12 wines) tastings provide a comprehensive tasting across a range of different price points and can be enjoyed overlooking the vineyard and surrounding countryside, while the kitchen serves up a fresh, local sharing menu which is paired to the wines. That's hardly contentious!
Wine varieties include Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.
